PLANO, Texas — Three men are in custody after attempting to rob an ATM using a stolen truck, the Plano Police Department announced Thursday.
On April 24, the suspects targeted a bank in the 400 block of Coit Road. The department said burglary detectives and patrol officers jumped into action shortly after the trio arrived, thwarting their attempt to steal the ATM.
The suspects tried to evade authorities but were eventually arrested. Marcel Bechet, Gabriel Diaz-Columna, and Cornelius Washington all face felony theft charges related to ATM theft, police said.
The department said the suspects used the stolen truck in an attempt to hide their identities. The truck used in this case was recovered and turned over to the authorities.
"We are continuously proud of the work our department does to maintain a safe community," the department said in a Facebook post.
