2 hospitalized after woman leads chase from Parker County, crashes on I-20 in Fort Worth

There were heavy traffic backups as several lanes were blocked.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Updated at 6:18 p.m. with additional information from officials.

A 37-year-old woman crashed Monday afternoon in Fort Worth after leading state troopers on a chase out of Parker County, officials said. The crash involved multiple vehicles and left the woman and another person hospitalized.

The Dodge Durango crashed at eastbound Interstate 20 and McCart Avenue at about 3:30 p.m.

At about 3:10 p.m., a state trooper attempted to pull her over for a traffic violation on I-20 in Willow Park. It's currently unknown why she chose to evade the trooper, said Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Sergeant Richard A. Hunter.

She drove the Durango to Fort Worth where it struck the rear of a box truck and then struck two other vehicles. Those vehicles struck two more vehicles, Hunter said.

One of the occupants was also taken to a hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. The woman was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Hunter said.

At the location, a box truck was stalled and a light pole looked to have fallen.
