LAKE WORTH, Texas — Police say they caught two people leaving the scene of a Dollar General store that’d been broken into in Lake Worth early Saturday and pursued the suspects to a home about four miles from the store.

As officers were arriving at the store in the 6700 block of Lake Worth Boulevard, police say they noticed the front window of the store broken and two people leaving the scene in a vehicle.

Police tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle fled westbound on Lake Worth Boulevard, according to a statement.

Officers pursued the vehicle to a home in the 8000 block of Ella Young Drive and the driver, identified as Christina Lyons, 30, remained in the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The passenger, identified as Domingo Ocampo, 45, ran inside the residence and refused to come out, police said.

Officers surrounded the house and negotiated with Ocampo by phone, convincing him to surrender after about 15 minutes, according to police.

Lyons was arrested on complaints of burglary of a building and evading arrest using a vehicle and Ocampo was arrested on complaints of burglary of a building and evading.

Police say they found burglary tools and stolen items in the vehicle. Agencies are asked to contact detectives at LWCID@lakeworthtx.org if they believe Lyons and/or Ocampo are associated with any other incidents.
