TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A Tarrant County mother, 32-year-old Jesika Lynn Jones, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for poisoning her 4-year-old child with Benadryl in order to fake a seizure disorder, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office (TCSO).

In 2022, TCSO said Jones was arrested for the heinous crimes after she took her daughter to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth several times, claiming she was having seizures.

According to TCSO, Jones pled guilty to charges of injury to a child and endangering a child back in January 2024.

On Friday, Jones was sentenced to 60 years by Tarrant County Judge Steven Jumes.

"Today's verdict sends a clear and strong message that we will not tolerate medical child abuse in Tarrant County," Sheriff Waybourn said in a Facebook post on Friday.
