Man shot in chest by family member following argument in North Texas

According to police, the victim was in stable condition while being taken to the hospital.

AZLE, Texas — The Azle Police Department says a man was left with potentially life-threatening injuries after he was shot by a family member on Tuesday. 

According to police, at about noon, the department received a call from the 100 block of Richard Lane in which the caller stated that they had been shot in the chest by a family member. 

Police say officers quickly responded to the scene and found the victim and suspect outside of the home. 

According to police, the suspect was arrested without incident and the victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. However, the injuries sustained were potentially life-threatening.

Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The shooting appeared to be the result of an argument between the victim and suspect. 

According to police, other family members, including a small child, were present during the shooting, but no other injuries were reported.
