MIDLOTHIAN, Texas — The Midlothian Police Department is working to track down five suspects wanted in connection with theft at three different pharmacies in the area.
According to MPD, the suspects are targeting controlled substance medications.
On July 8, officers responded to a burglary report at All Care Pharmacy in the 1400 block of South Midlothian Parkway. Police said the suspects broke a window to get inside and took an undisclosed amount of controlled substances. The same incident occurred two months later on Sept. 21, MPD said.
Four days later, Ropheka Pharmacy in the 300 block of Hawkins Run was burglarized. Then on Sept. 26, about half a mile away, the Midlothian Pharmacy in the 2000 block of South 14th Street was also hit.
"Investigators determined that comparable pharmacy burglaries had occurred around the same dates in other cities," the department said in a news release.
MPD worked with law enforcement in surrounding cities and arrested Demetrius Wines in connection with the burglaries. Shortly following Wines' arrest, a second suspect, Alfred Echols, was identified and was taken into custody.
With the help of social media, cell phone and cell tower records, FLOCK cameras, and facial recognition software, authorities were able to identify five additional suspects.
- Jerry Collins, 35
- Christopher McCoy, 30
- Kaylon Roland, 31
- Remond Williams, 27
- Bradford Wines, 23
All five suspects have warrants out for their arrest, police said. The warrants are for multiple counts of burglary of a building where a controlled substance is stored and engaging in organized criminal activity.
A total of 26 warrants were issued with a bond amount of $2.6 million, police said.
