Jan. 30, 2019 UPDATE:
The girl that Billy Anthony Williams has been charged with sexually assaulting is 14 years old, according to an arrest affidavit provided by the Mesquite Police Department.
The affidavit stated that after Williams drove the girl to school, he sexually assaulted her in the school parking lot. Police tracked Williams' car – a black Chrysler 300 – by reviewing video surveillance at the high school and local businesses.
Once they found Williams, police discovered he already had other active warrants for his arrest from the Arlington Police Department. Upon arrest, Williams gave a full confession and his car was impounded, the affidavit said.
His bail was set at $100,000.
Jan. 29, 2019 UPDATE: Mesquite police have charged Billy Anthony Williams, 36, of Forney, with sexual assault of a child, police records show.
Mesquite police said in a statement Williams gave a full confession. No bond has been set at this time.
Jan. 28, 1019 story:
Police are searching for a driver who offered a woman a ride in Mesquite on Monday morning, and then sexually assaulted her, police said.
The victim told police she was walking near North Galloway Avenue and North Town East Boulevard when a man pulled alongside her and asked she wanted a ride because of the cold weather.
The victim willingly got into the car, and the driver pulled away. When they arrived at a location, he sexually assaulted her, according to a police news release.
The victim got out of the vehicle, and the suspect drove way. The victim told a witness, who then called police.
The suspect was described as a black man with a light complexion and shaved head. He was seen wearing a black jacket and gray athletic shorts. He drove away in a 2011-2014 black Chrysler 300, which police released a picture of Monday night.
