GRAPEVINE, Texas — A man was shot in his car as he was driving Monday in Grapevine, police say.
Police responded to the shooting call in the 1300 block of Texan Trail near the service road to SH-114 at about 8 p.m. Monday and said they found a 20-year-old man in the driver’s seat of a car with a gunshot wound to the hip. Police did not release the man’s name.
Officers helped the man until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man told police he was driving southbound on Texan Trail when people in another vehicle pulled up beside him and opened fire before continuing down the roadway.
Police say they believe the shooter may be known to the man and that it may have been a “targeted assault,” but the investigation remains ongoing.
