MANSFIELD, Texas — A second man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Mansfield, police said.
Officials say officers were called Thursday shortly after 4:30 p.m. to the 800 block of Cutting Horse Drive, where they found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound.
“As officers approached, citizens were performing CPR. Mansfield Fire Department Medics arrived and continued life-saving measures,” police said in a statement.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said. Due to his age police said it would not release his identity.
Mansfield PD said they were able to identify a suspect vehicle and located it at an apartment complex in East Dallas. Mansfield SWAT officers took 21-year-old Elijah Hatton into custody without incident.
Hatton was booked into jail and facing murder charges.
Then on Sept. 25, Mansfield Police and the U.S. Marshal's Office Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Spencer, 19, on a complaint of murder, police say.
Police are still investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Mansfield Police at 817-473-0211.
