A 26-year-old man was found dead in the back yard of a Fort Worth home Saturday, Fort Worth Police said.
The victim, identified as Eric Manning, died from a gunshot wound to the chest at 11 a.m. Saturday, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner.
Manning's body was found in the back yard of his home on the 5700 block of Whittlesley Road. His death was ruled a homicide.
Police who responded to the shooting first believed a woman had accidentally shot Manning, officer Tamara Pena, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman, told the Star-Telegram.
Amelia Arroyo, 24, was booked into the Mansfield Jail Sunday on $500,000. Jail records state that she faces a murder charge.
The relationship between Arroyo and Manning was not immediately clear.
