BEDFORD, Texas — A man was arrested in Tarrant County for the fentanyl-related death of a Bedford teenager who overdosed in January, police say.
According to the Bedford Police Department, 19-year-old Kaeden Farish of Azle is charged with murder in the death of 17-year-old Dustin Anderton.
Bedford PD says Farish sold fentanyl-laced pills to the teen. The department said once the autopsy confirmed Anderton's death was caused by the drug, they secured an arrest warrant for Farish.
"Due to a new law that went into effect in 2023, it is now a criminal offense of murder for supplying fentanyl that results in death," the department said in a news release.
Farish was arrested on Feb. 2 on a warrant for the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and booked into the Tarrant County Jail.
His bond is set at $175,000 for the combined charges of murder and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
