DENTON, Texas — A man was arrested this week in connection with two sexual assault incidents in Denton from 2020, officials say.
Police say a woman reported that a man got into her residence in the 2400 block of Charlotte Street in March 2020 and tried to force her onto a bed, police say. The man fled after the woman resisted, according to police.
A woman in the 2500 block of Charlotte Avenue reported a man forced his way into her apartment and sexually assaulted her in November of 2020, according to law enforcement.
DNA evidence showed the two cases were linked, according to police.
After an investigation involving the Dallas FBI and the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force and DNA testing, officials say Jason Warren, 38, was indicted Jan. 9 on two counts of sexually motivated burglary of habitation and arrested Jan. 11 for those charges and a warrant for trespassing from the Waco Police Department, police said in a news release.
Warren was booked into the Harrison County Jail on a $210,000 bond and is being transported to the Denton County Jail.
