Irving police charge man with stabbing woman to death

The 42-year-old victim was found dead in a parking lot with multiple stab wounds, police say.

IRVING, Texas — The Irving Police Department has charged a man with murder in a case involving a woman found stabbed to death in a parking lot.

Police were called at about 6:15 a.m. Monday to an unknown call for service in the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane. 

Officers found the victim, 41-year-old Sucel Cuba Gomez, dead in the parking lot with several stab wounds, police say. 

Before their arrival, police say the suspect, 44-year-old Yunier Aldazabal, had fled the area in a vehicle. Officers found the vehicle with Aldazabal inside around 9 a.m. at a parking lot in the 2800 block of West Irving Boulevard.

Aldaabal was arrested without incident. Police say he and the the victim had been dating. 

Irving PD says the investigation is still ongoing and in the early stages.
