GARLAND, Texas — Two Wylie teens were killed in a shooting that happened in Garland on Sunday, police say.

Police said the victims were 17-year-old Ruben Santibanez Arzola and 18-year-old Alan Jesus Chavez.

Officials first shared information about the shooting Sunday on social media. Officers were called to the 2300 block of West Buckingham Road at 3:15 p.m.

First responders found two people, later identified as Arzola and Chavez, shot at the scene. They were both later pronounced dead.

Officers learned that the shooter fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.

On Tuesday, Garland police said they issued a "directive to apprehend" warrant for 16-year-old Amancio Anton Noriz, who they believe to be in connection with the shooting. On Thursday night, Laredo police posted to Facebook that Noriz was "locates and detained" in the area of Monterrey Nuevo León, Mexico, with the assistance of Laredo US Marshals.

According to Laredo PD, Noriz was later deported to the US pending capital murder charges out of Garland. Noriz was booked by the Laredo PD/US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and remanded to Webb County juvenile Detention Center, pending extradition.

Noriz was transferred to Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center on Friday, according to Garland PD.
