GARLAND, Texas — Two teenage brothers have been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Garland, police say.

In a news release Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Garland Police Department said 17-year-old Christopher Sagrero and his brother, 19-year-old Jose Sagrero, have each been charged with one count of murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Moises Flores, of Dallas.

Police said around 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, officers were called to the 400 block of S. Forest Crest Drive in response to a weapons disturbance. The caller told 911 multiple people had been shot at the location, and the suspects fled from the scene.

When both Garland police officers and fire personnel arrived, one victim had already been transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle, and a second victim was found and transported to a local hospital by Garland paramedics, officials said.

On Monday, Jan. 23, police learned that one of the victims, identified as Flores, died from his injury. The second victim is still in the hospital and is stable, police said.

Christopher and Jose Sagrero are currently in the Dallas County jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
