FORT WORTH, Texas — Three men pleaded guilty to stealing a U.S. Postal Service arrow key in Fort Worth. The could face up to 10 years in prison.

Thieves steal the USPS arrow keys to illegally access blue collection boxes to steal mail, check, credit cards and other sensitive information, according to a press release from the Northern District Attorney of Texas Leigha Simonton.

Jlynn Laneil Dunn, 21, Daylin Darden, 24, and D Colby Vashion Lewis, 23, admitted to robbing a letter carrier at gunpoint on Oct. 2, 2023.

Surveillance video captured the robbery and the defendants running away. During a search of one of the defendants home law enforcement recovered guns, drugs, mail, checks and DVR system.

Surveillance video captured Darden leaving the home with a gun and returning to the home with a small item attached to a gold chain, matching the chain used to carry USPS arrow keys, according to the release.

Investigators also found a direct message Dunn sent via Instagram that read, “I’m tryna go get us a key rn so I can get these real scam Money,” the release states.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 3. Fort Worth and Arlington police departments assisted in the investigation.

Last month, an 18-year-old pleaded guilty to concealing the USPS arrow keys and in April three men pleaded guilty robbing a mail carrier at gunpoint. Police are currently offering a $150,000 reward for information related to another robbery.
