FORT WORTH, Texas — A 16-year-old died Tuesday after being shot in southeast Fort Worth, police said.
Officers responded to a shooting around 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in the 3500 block of Ave L, Fort Worth police said in a press release. Police found a 16-year-old dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.
The victim was later identified as Damariion Henton, a student at Polytechnic High School, according to Fort Worth ISD. The district said in a statement that they will provide additional counseling staff on campus this week.
Police identified a suspect and they are currently being interviewed by police, according to the release. No arrests have been made, officials said. An investigation is ongoing.
