FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is looking for a suspect after a man was found with a fatal stab wound in an apartment early Friday morning.

Police said officers were called at around 1:39 a.m. about a stabbing at an apartment in the 100 block of Harding Street. Officers found the victim inside with what appeared to be a stab wound in his lower body, according to FWPD.

Despite attempts by medical personnel to intervene, the victim didn't survive, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 45-year-old Dewayne David Christopher.

Christopher and the suspect were determined to have had a physical and verbal altercation outside of the apartment before the stabbing, police said. The suspect reportedly left after the argument, but returned soon and stabbed Christopher at least once before fleeing in a vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
