FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is searching for a man who they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint.

Around 10 p.m. on July 20, a man walked into the convenience store at the Murphy Express at 3015 E Berry St. in Fort Worth, according to FWPD. Police say the man pushed an employee behind the counter and demanded they open the safe.

According to a release from authorities, the employee told the suspect he did not have access to the safe. In response, the man pulled a gun from his hoodie and fired a single round into the counter, police say. FWPD says multiple people were in the store at the time, but nobody was hit.

After that, an employee started emptying the cash register, and the suspect took the money and stuffed it into his hoodie pocket, police say.

According to police, the man was last seen running west on Burton Ave.

Fort Worth police are asking anyone with information to call the assigned detective at 817-392-4380 or Crimestoppers 817-469-TIPS.
