Fort Worth girl kidnapped during robbery, suspects lead officers on short chase, police say

Police said two men entered the home, took the girl at gunpoint and led officers on a short chase that ended with a crash.

FORT WORTH, Texas — At least one person was arrested overnight after robbery suspects kidnapped a Fort Worth girl and led officers on a chase, police said.

The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) said two men entered a home at approximately 2:07 a.m. Friday in the 6700 block of Golden Grove Road, near Chisolm Trail and took a girl at gunpoint. Two vehicles were taken from the residence, police said.

At approximately 2:51 a.m., officers tracked down one of the suspect vehicles and were led on a short chase that ended in a crash near the intersection of the South Freeway and Sycamore School Road, police said.

Two suspects ran away and at least one of them was arrested Friday morning, police said. Fort Worth police said they're still searching for the other suspect, but there was "no immediate threat to the general public" because the incident was isolated.

Fort Worth police said the girl was safe and in good condition. She was taken to Cook Children's Hospital Hospital in stable condition for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The arrested suspect, who police said is a juvenile male, was transported to the Scott D. Moore Juvenile Justice Center. He faces four felony charges (Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Evading arrest detention on foot, Unauthorized use of Motor Vehicle and Evading arrest detention with vehicle), according to FWPD.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, police ask you contact the Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at (817)469-TIPS (8477) or www.469TIPS.com
