FORT WORTH, Texas — A former Tarrant County teacher was arrested on child indecency charges, officials said.

Trent Muse, 28, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Monday and charged with five counts of exposing himself to a child, according to police records.

Muse used to be an instructor at Trinity Valley School.

"We are devastated to learn of the arrest of a former Trinity Valley School instructor, and we are committed to supporting our community as we process this difficult news together," the school said in a statement.

It's unclear when the alleged crimes occurred or whether they occurred while he was employed at Trinity Valley.

Officials at the Fort Worth K-12 private school told WFAA it's cooperating with authorities and said they are dedicated to maintaining "an environment in which our students are safe and supported."

Tarrant County court records show Muse's bond was set at $200,000.

"Out of respect for the privacy of our families and to protect the integrity of the investigation, we are limited in what we can share. Our focus remains on supporting our community as we move forward together," the statement reads.
