The robbery happened June 6 at a First Convenience Boulevard location within a Fort Worth Walmart, officials say.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A man suspected of robbing a First Convenience Bank branch in a Fort Worth Walmart with a child in tow earlier this month has been arrested, officials say.

Ronnie Newman, 44, was arrested in connection with the June 6 robbery in Mineral Wells, officials say.

The robber walked to the bank teller counter at the location in the 8400 block of Anderson Boulevard shortly after 2 p.m. June 6 with a child seated in a shopping cart and gave a note to the teller demanding cash, according to the FBI’s Dallas division.

After taking money, the man pushed the child and shopping cart toward the exit, then fled the store carrying the child, according to a news release.

Newman will be charged through the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.
