$173K in stolen vehicles, equipment recovered in Ellis County, sheriff says

According to the sheriff, the 3-day operation resulted in officials finding stolen vehicles, semi-trailers, a skid steer, and a stolen motor.

ELLIS COUNTY, Texas — Officials say a police operation in Ellis County last week led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen property believed to be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office shared a news release on social media Wednesday morning.

According to the sheriff, "Operation Fall Recovery" ran between Nov. 14 - 16 with a focus on finding stolen property and vehicles within the county. 

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved, including the sheriff's office, Texas DPS, the Tri-County Auto Theft Taskforce, and four other local police departments.

As a result, the sheriff's office said they found two stolen vehicles, two semi-trailers, two utility trailers, a skid steer and a stolen motor. In total, they're estimated to be worth about $173,000.

In addition to the stolen property, five people were arrested during the sting, according to officials.
