DALLAS — A 35-year-old woman was shot and killed in southern Dallas on Wednesday morning, police confirmed to WFAA.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers found Dishaye Stevenson shot on the side of the road in the 1600 block of Murdock Road. Stevenson died at the scene, police said.
The shooting happened at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Murdock, near the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
Officers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Michael Smith. Smith was arrested on a murder charge, police said. Smith was booked into Dallas County Jail.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, police said.
