DeSoto teacher arrested for stalking pastor

Keegan Forge was taken away in handcuffs Tuesday after being arrested for failing to stay away from Pastor Marcus King
Keegan Forge, right, was arrested on September 16, 2014 after allegedly stalking DeSoto Pastor Marcus King.

DeSOTO — Keegan Forge was taken from a Justice of the Peace Court in handcuffs Tuesday. She was arrested for violating a court order to stay away from Pastor Marcus King.

"It's just a frustrating thing, because you don't know if the person has a gun," King said. "I was chased down the street twice at night and in broad daylight."

King leads the Disciple Central Community Church in DeSoto. That's where he says it all began in 2010, when Keegan began attending his church and started sending him messages that she was "interested."

"My reply back was, the only interest I have is to be your pastor, and that is it — and the rejection from that point turned into four years of trying to catch my attention," King said.

King called 911 at least seven times when Forge would show up unexpectedly.

ID=14885302"Every single time, the police just came and talked to her and told her to leave, and she escalated and came right back," King said.

The pastor went to court and got a peace bond to force Forge to stay away from him... but it didn't stop her.

On Sunday, she showed up at the church again, and then at his home.

He has surveillance video of Forge at his residence; she got the address from the court paperwork.

"She tried to kick in my door, screaming, yelling and just crazy," King said.

Even more troubling is that Forge is a teacher at Amber Terrace Elementary School in the DeSoto Independent School District. In her online biography, Forge says she enjoys "being involved in and teaching at church."

On Tuesday, a judge ordered her to Parkland Hospital for a mental evaluation.

Forge did not reply to a question from News 8 about why she hasn't left King alone.

The pastor said it alarmed him that he had to do his own detective work and purchase cameras to catch her violating the court's order. He said current stalking laws don't protect the victim, and let suspects repeatedly violate the law with no real consequences.

"I am just afraid after looking at so many other people and other cases, I really understand why people get killed," King said.

He added that what made things worse is in his case is that from the beginning — because he's a man — there was suspicion that he was the one who was the instigator. But in court on Tuesday, Forge admitted Pastor King never contacted her.

He is hoping to raise awareness about stalking and strengthening existing laws.

DeSoto ISD says it will deal with Forge's discipline after they review the charges against her.
