DALLAS — A 40-year-old North Texas man was arrested and charged for murder in the shooting death of a 47-year-old woman, Dallas police said.
The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to at approximately 7:10 a.m. Friday to a disturbance armed encounter call in the 9500 block of Royal Lane. When officers arrived, they found 47-year-old Unetria Williams shot inside a home, DPD said.
Williams died at the scene, according to police.
Dallas police said officers identified 40-year-old Demarcus Gates as the suspect who shot Williams. He was arrested and charged with murder, DPD said.
Jail records show Gates was booked into Dallas County Jail Friday afternoon with a bond set at $500,000.
It remained unclear what exactly led up to the shooting. No further information was available.
