20-year-old killed in shooting on Dallas Housing Authority property, Dallas police say

A shooting at Cedar Springs Place killed one person overnight, Dallas police said.

DALLAS — One person died in a shooting on Dallas Housing Authority property Saturday night, Dallas police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting at 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 2700 block of The Mall, on Dallas Housing Authority property, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. 

Officers found 20-year-old Daniel Ramos shot in the parking lot of the Cedar Springs Place apartments and he died on the scene, police said. 

In an update on Friday, Oct. 2, Dallas police said the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested 45-year-old Tracy McDaniel. McDaniel was booked into the Dallas County Jail and is charged with murder, DPD said.
