28-year-old killed in northwest Dallas shooting, police say

DALLAS — One person was killed in a shooting in northwest Dallas on Monday afternoon, police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting call at 4:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in the 3200 block of Lombardy Lane, Dallas police said in a press release. When police arrived, they found a man had been shot, the release states. 

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died, police said. He was later identified as 28-year-old Billy Ray Turner, Jr.

On Nov. 2, DPD charged 31-year-old Darren Cobbin with murder. Cobbin is currently in federal custody for an unrelated charge, police said.
