2 bystanders shot, 1 killed in crossfire of Dallas shooting, police sources say

Dallas police said the shooting happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday at the corner of Carpenter Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard.

DALLAS — Two innocent bystanders were shot – and one of them died – in the crossfire between people in two vehicles early Thursday, police sources told WFAA.

Police said a man and woman were shot just after 1 a.m. at the corner of Carpenter Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard. Sources told WFAA that people in two cars were shooting at each other and the victims were caught in the crossfire. Rifle rounds were found at the scene that came from some sort of assault-style weapon, sources told WFAA. 

The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The man was last listed in stable condition, police said.  

The victims' identities were not known either.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and they're checking nearby cameras to gather more information.

No arrests have been made.
