1 dead in shooting at Dallas motel, suspect arrested, police say

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of Preferred Place.

One person was found dead at a motel in the Redbird area of southern Dallas, according to police.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of Preferred Place. When officers got to the scene, an Ari Motel just off of Interstate 20, they found a person dead inside a room. 

On Friday, DPD identified the victim as 48-year-old Cedrick Woods. DPD arrested 32-year-old Branden Frazier and charged him with murder.
