DALLAS — A man was killed and a woman was left severely-injured after a crash in southern Dallas on Friday night, police told WFAA.
The crash happened at approximately 7 p.m. Friday in the 5900 block of University Hills Boulevard, DPD said.
Police said the victims were traveling southbound on University Hills Boulevard and began turning left into a shopping center parking lot when they were struck by the suspect driver, who was headed northbound at a high rate of speed. The male driver who was hit died at the scene, DPD said, and a female passenger was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspect driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition and will be charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault, according to DPD.
The identities of the victims and suspect driver were not immediately available. The man who died will be identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office.
