DALLAS — One teen was killed and another was injured in a shooting near Reverchon Park on Friday morning, Dallas police said.
The Dallas Police Department said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:40 a.m. Friday in the 3100 block of Harry Hines Boulevard. When officers got to the scene, they found two teens shot. Both teens were transported to the hospital, DPD said.
On Sunday, one of the teens, a 14-year-old boy, died from his injuries, according to police. The other teen, also a 14-year-old boy, will survive his injuries, according to DPD.
Police said it arrested a 16-year-old male suspect, and he was initially charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. One of those charges has since been upgraded to manslaughter, DPD said.
Due to the teens' ages, their names will not be released, Dallas police said.
