2 teens shot, killed in Dallas parking lot, police say

One of the teenagers was shot on the ground outside of a vehicle and the other was shot in the driver's seat, Dallas police said.

DALLAS — Two teenagers were found dead in Dallas with gunshot wounds Friday night, according to police.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded at approximately 9:20 p.m. Friday to the 3800 block of Dixon Avenue. When officers got to the scene, they found 18-year-old Camren Stacy on the ground outside of a vehicle and 18-year-old Kamari Smith-Capps, in the driver’s seat. Both men had been shot and died at the scene, DPD said.

DPD said its preliminary investigation determined the teenagers were shot while inside the vehicle in the parking lot of the Uncle Lee Market, and the suspects ran from the scene, south on Dixon Avenue.

Blanca Espinosa, a store clerk at Dixon Grocery down the street, said she heard the gunshots shortly after 9 p.m.

"I just heard 'tat' 'tat' 'tat' 'tat' like somebody just emptied out a clip, and we didn’t know where it was coming from. We knew it was pretty close," she said.

She said she passed the crime scene on her drive home.

"It was horrible," she said. "Just to see a lifeless body there just laying."

There is no suspect description at this time, DPD said.
