Shniquia Simington was shot and killed in March 2018. The shooter, a security guard, has been indicted on a murder charge.

Simington's mother, Donnita Russell, had been frustrated with the pace of the investigation into her daughter's death. A Dallas County grand jury heard the case this week.

"We just want justice for Shniquia," Russell told WFAA in September.

Simington once worked at the cabaret. Police said club management asked Simington and a group of friends to leave the cabaret before the shooting.

Taylor followed the group outside and told police he saw the 27-year-old woman pick up a gun.
