DALLAS — Dallas Police and SWAT arrested a suspect without incident after an hours-long standoff with a man barricaded in a northeast Dallas apartment.
The man, whose name has not been released, periodically fired shots inside an apartment and yelled obscenties at officers. The apartment complex is located off Skillman Street near the SMU campus.
A heavy police presence responded to the scene. Residents in the area were evacuated.
Police initially responded to reports of a barricaded man in the apartment complex around 12:15 a.m., Thursday, Dallas police said in a statement. The incident may have started as a domestic dispute, officers told WFAA. Dallas Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.
