DALLAS — A 14-year veteran with the Dallas Police Department was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault, officials say.
Dallas PD released a statement saying Sergeant David Bayson was arrested Tuesday for Assault-Family Violence, a misdemeanor charge. DPD said Bayson was off-duty at the time of the offense.
According to DPD, Sergeant Bayson has been on the force since January 2010. DPD said Bayson is assigned to the Youth Services Section.
In a statement, DPD confirmed Bayson is on administrative leave pending an Internal Affairs investigation.
