Dallas police seek man who shot dog in front of kids

Police say a man shot a dog in its face in front of three children at a Dallas apartment complex.

DALLAS — Police are asking for the public's help as they search for a suspect who shot a dog in its face in front of three children on Feb. 28 at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Woodhollow Drive.

According to police, three children, all in the age range between 5 and 7 years old, were with their dog, Nolan, at about 5 p.m. near a dumpster the Woodhollow Apartments when a man walked up, pulled out a gun and shot the animal. The man fled the scene before police arrived. 

Nolan, described by police as a German shepherd lab mix, survived but sustained a major injury to his mouth.

Authorities haven't released a suspect description but asked that anyone with information pertaining to the casse call Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477 or Det. H. Tamez with the Animal Cruelty Unit at 214-671-0115.
