DALLAS — Dallas police say they have opened a homicide investigation after finding a victim dead inside a residence Thursday afternoon.
In a news release, police said they responded at 4:15 p.m. to a service call from the 5100 block of Verde Valley Lane.
When officers arrived, they said they found a person dead inside the residence. They identified the victim as 34-year-old Cody Ward.
Police said Ward died from "homicidal violence." No suspects have been identified as of Saturday morning. They left the scene before officers got there.
