Suspect arrested, charged with murder in shooting at Church's Chicken in Dallas, police say

Dallas police said the homicide happened at about 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 4600 block of Scyene Road.

DALLAS — A teenager was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 10 at a Church's Chicken in Dallas, police sources told WFAA.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a shooting at about 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 4600 block of Scyene Road.

When officers got there, they found 17-year-old Marcos Villanueva shot inside the business. Police said Villanueva died at the scene.

Church's Chicken sent WFAA the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened to learn about the shooting at the Church’s restaurant at 4656 Scyene Rd. in South Dallas, where an employee of one of our franchisees was shot and killed. As the franchisee continues to work closely with Dallas Police on the active investigation, he reaffirms that the safety of his team members and guests is of the utmost importance. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marcos Villanueva and his family during this difficult time."

On Feb. 19, Dallas police arrested 22-year-old Jeremy Grant and charged him with murder. Court records show Grant's bond was set at $1.25 million.
