SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Southlake police say they arrested a former Carroll Senior High School teacher last month after an officer found several pill bottles in his backpack during a routine K-9 sweep of the campus.
Campus administration told a Southlake police school resource officer that a K-9 had alerted to a desk and backpack belonging to the teacher, 29-year-old Kristopher Connett, according to police. After searching both, the bottles were found inside the backpack, police say.
The bottles contained what is believed to be Adderall, which a pharmacist later verified to be the case, police said. The names and prescriptions on the bottles did not match Connett's, officials say.
Police arrested Connett and charged him with possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the Keller Jail without incident.
Carroll ISD confirmed to WFAA that Connett is no longer by the district, but
Fentanyl is not suspected in the case, police say. The pills will be submitted for laboratory testing and analysis to confirm their composition, officials say.
Carroll ISD confirmed to WFAA that Connett is no longer by the district, but declined to comment further.
"Carroll ISD does not comment on personnel matters or pending police investigations," the district added."
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
