BURLESON, Texas — A woman is in critical condition and a man is dead after a shooting related to "domestic violence," Burleson police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 at The Depot on Main Apartments in Burleson, 125 N. Main Street, according to a press release from Burleson police.

On arrival, police found a female victim who was transported to a hospital. Officers then went into the apartment where the shooting occurred and found a deceased male, the release said.

The male was later identified as Jose Antonio Gomez, 21. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner did not release a cause of death.

The preliminary investigation determined the shooting was an isolated incident related to domestic violence, police said. Investigators are not actively seeking any additional suspects, the release said.

The female victim is in critical but stable condition, police said. Officials did not immediately release any additional information about the man or woman involved in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
