LITTLE ELM, Texas — The Little Elm Police Department announced it has arrested a 20-year-old suspect who they say was involved in a shooting that put a school on lockdown.
According to the Little Elm Police Department, the incident started at the EZ Mart on S. Paloma St. and 380. Police told WFAA that male suspects, including 20-year-old Jh'don Brown, chased a man south onto Flamingo Drive.
Little Elm PD says Brown shot at the victim as he was running away. During the chase, a home on Flamingo Drive was hit by gunfire, police say.
The department announced that they arrested Brown in connection with the shooting on Tuesday. Police say when they searched Brown's home, they found two guns. One of the guns that is believed to have been used during the shooting was reported stolen on Sept. 9, according to Little Elm PD. The second gun is in the process of being traced, police say.
Brown is facing two charges: Deadly Conduct and Possession of a Stolen Firearm, according to Little Elm Police.
Nearby, Braswell High School was put on lockdown at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, per Denton ISD. The district says both the high school's open house and the games between Cheek and Rodriguez Middle Schools were postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Denton ISD says "no shooting or any other incident related to this investigation took place at Ray Braswell High School."
