BEDFORD, Texas — Bedford police arrested a man Monday in connection to the mysterious death of a Bedford woman.
Brandon Paramore, 39, of Euless, was arrested and charged with the murder of 79-year-old Christine Barsanti, Bedford police said Monday.
The Bedford Police Department said someone found the Barsanti, unresponsive, in her Meadow View Lane home Friday and called law enforcement.
Investigators reviewed video from neighbors' security cameras. The recordings showed a thin man "wearing a black shirt, black tights, white tennis shoes, and a possible wig" approach the front door around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The man asked to use the woman's phone when she answered the door. After she refused, investigators believe the man forced his way inside.
Bedford officials said while reviewing the footage, they noticed "similarities to Paramore based on previous contact with him," Bedford police said in a press release following the arrest. Officers located him and kept track of him for several days before placing him into custody on unrelated charges on Saturday, June 8, according to the release.
"Our thoughts are with Ms. Barsanti’s family, who have been supportive throughout our efforts to bring her justice,” said Bedford Deputy Chief Bobby LaPenna.
Neighbors say Barsanti was "very involved in her community."
"She was very active and vibrant," neighbor Michelle Ballard said. "She had a reputation for having a big heart."
Investigators have not said if they believe the woman was targeted. The case is still under investigation, police said.
"I just can't stop thinking about her," Ballard said. "It's terrifying and heartbreaking."
