DALLAS -- Dallas police have made an arrest in the hit-and-run death of a Southlake Carroll High School graduate.
According to an arrest affidavit, Jonathan Redmond, 31, called police on Monday night to turn himself in for the crash.
During an interview with officers, Redmond admitted to causing the crash that killed Paul Miltenberger, 20, and leaving the scene, the affidavit shows.
Early Sunday morning, Miltenberger was crossing Mockingbird Avenue when police say he was hit by the driver of a Dodge Challenger. Miltenberger died at the scene.
A witness told police the car that hit Miltenberger lost its passenger-side mirror. Before arresting Redmond, officers saw his black Dodge Challenger and noted the right-side mirror was missing and the vehicle had damage "consistent with the damage to the vehicle involved in the collision," the affidavit states.
Miltenberger graduated from Southlake Carroll High School in 2013. He was a student at the University of Missouri. Miltenberger was home for Easter weekend when he was killed, authorities said.
