ARLINGTON, Texas — Three suspects have been arrested and charged with capital murder for the death of a man who was beaten severely in Arlington, police said.
In a press release on Thursday, police said 20-year-old Norlan Gomez-Torres, 22-year-old Brayan Amador Vasquez, and 29-year-old Jared Amador Vasquez were arrested on Wednesday.
All three were charged for the death of 51-year-old Frank Kwasnica III. Police said warrants were obtained for their arrests and they were booked into the Arlington City Jail.
According to officials and Kwasnica's family, Kwansica was beaten in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Jan. 19 after giving a coworker a ride home. Police were called to the complex in the 2200 block of Blue Water Drive just before 12:30 a.m. where they said they found Kwasnica severely beaten.
In the Thursday press release, police said a witness had cellphone video of the incident that showed two vehicles near the victim and the suspects. The vehicles weren't at the scene when police arrived, so they believed the suspects took both vehicles.
One of the vehicles, later identified as Kwasnica's blue Ford Mustang, was found the next day about four miles away from the crime scene. Police said they took the vehicle from the scene to dump when they found items inside that belonged to Gomez-Torres.
According to Torres' arrest warrant, the items were his cellphone and a bloody shoe.
In all of the suspects' retracted warrants, officials said they connected Brayan Vasquez as another suspect in the case. Documents said he was seen running up to his apartment, running back down, then leaving in the other vehicle that left the scene before officers arrived.
Vasquez's warrant said management entered the apartment and found a shirt with what appeared to be blood.
The warrant for Jared Vasquez said Brayan was arrested out of a vehicle that Jared was driving. According to the documents, Jared came to the Arlington police station and identified himself as Brayan's brother.
Documents said Brayan confessed to being involved in the incident and name Jared as the third suspect.
Jared allegedly admitted to being there during the incident and claimed he tried to break up the fight between everyone. He then admitted to being involved after he was shown video of the incident, according to his warrant.
