ARLINGTON, Texas — Two people were arrested in Arlington on aggravated robbery charges after police say they assaulted a man who was trying to protect his son.
The Arlington Police Department (APD) said officers responded at approximately 5:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 1600 block of Pecan Chase Circle for reports of an assault. When officers got there, they found a 55-year-old man who was bleeding from his hand. The man told police two people came to the location to fight his son, who was not home at the time.
Police said they "reportedly began arguing and eventually physically assaulted the man." The man also told police one of the two people were armed and had threatened to shoot him, but no shots were fired.
Arlington police said the suspects – 32-year-old Darrius Threatt and 30-year-old Laquintoria Grayson – were still at the scene when officers arrived and were not forthcoming with details about what happened.
Police said that during the alleged assault, they took the man's cane.
Threatt and Grayson were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, police said.
The 55-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
