ARLINGTON, Texas — A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in the parking lot of an Arlington apartment complex, police said.
Arlington police responded to reports of a shooting around 11:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at an apartment complex located at 2100 Wilcrest Drive, according to a press release from the Arlington Police Department.
Officers found a man slumped over inside of a car in the parking lot, police said. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the release states. The victim was later identified as as Jarell Tre-Von Thornton.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred while the victim was driving through the parking lot, police said. The car was left in drive and had multiple bullet holes in it, the release states. The victim's car appeared to hit several parked vehicles before coming to a stop.
No witnesses reported seeing the shooting and police do not currently have a suspect, police said. Investigators believe the shooting may have been prompted by a high-risk drug deal, according to the release.
