Man and woman are on the run after allegedly assaulting an officer, police say

During a traffic stop, a man assaulted an Alvarado police officer before running away with a passenger, police said. Police are still looking for them.

ALVARADO, Texas — Police are looking for a man and woman who fled from police after assaulting an officer, Alvarado police said. 

Jeremy Buster Corker, 30, and Peggy Rudene Rotenberry, 41, are on the run after Corker allegedly fought and assaulted an officer during a traffic stop Tuesday, according to a press release from the Alvarado police department. 

Officials did not disclose the condition of the officer or the extent of their injuries. 

Alvarado police conducted a traffic stop around 8:07 p.m. Tuesday. Corker, a white male, fought and assaulted an officer, according to the release. Rotenberry, a wanted felon, was a passenger in the car, police said. 

Corker and Rotenberry ran away on foot and are still missing, police said. Alvarado police and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office are searching for the pair. 

Officials urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Alvarado Police Department or the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
