DALLAS — A nine-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition after Dallas police said the young boy was left behind in a car after an overnight crash.

Dallas PD said around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a crash in the 2100 block of Arden Road.

Police said its initial investigation revealed that 39-year-old Monica Tutt was speeding and crashed into an unoccupied parked car along Arden Road. Tutt left the scene but was later found, Dallas PD said.

They also found a nine-year-old boy who was in the car with Tutt at the time of the crash. He's in the hospital in critical condition, police said.

It's unclear what the relationship between Tutt and the child is. Tutt was arrested and charged with intoxication assault and collision involving injury.
