CARROLLTON, Texas — Investigators with the Carrollton Police Department are reviewing security footage from early Monday morning to arrest three or more individuals who broke into almost 60 cars.
According to officials, 58 vehicles were reported to be broken into within the Meadow Ridge and Harvest Run neighborhoods. Glass could still be seen in the street Tuesday -- many cars had windows covered with trash bags.
Security footage from a home on Greenview Drive shows at least three suspects walking down the street, breaking into and peering into parked cars just before 3 a.m.
Some victims told WFAA that investigators revealed to them that as many as six individuals were involved with the crime, but police didn't speak to that in a release. Personal belongings and valuable items were reported missing.
The homeowner who provided the security footage had other proof that the individuals had been there weeks before committing similar crimes in a smaller dose and said they handed that footage over to police.
They added they think the suspects are teenagers, but again, police didn't speak to that in a release.
Carrollton officials tout on the city's website how home security experts consistently named it a safe city for North Texas over the years.
